LiquidPiston Inc. Appoints Dr. Ed Crow to Board of AdvisorsHartford, CT, (1-5-2007) – LiquidPiston, the developer of a new internal combustion engine, announced today that Dr. Ed Crow has been appointed to the company’s Board of Advisors. Dr. David (Ed) Crow has had an accomplished career in engine development at Pratt & Whitney, and more recently on the faculty of the University of Connecticut’s School of Engineering, where he is a Distinguished Professor-in-Residence. Dr. David (Ed) Crow brings over 40 years of engine industry experience. Prior to joining the University of Connecticut’s School of Engineering Department in 2002, he had a distinguished career at Pratt &Whitney. Dr. Crow joined Pratt & Whitney in 1966, rising to the position of Senior Vice President of Pratt & Whitney's Engineering organization in May 1997, where he was responsible for the design, development, validation and certification of all Pratt & Whitney large commercial engines, military engines and rocket products. Dr Crow is a member of SAE, ASME, AIAA, and the National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Crow graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a M.S. in mechanical engineering and returned to the University of Missouri-Rolla for his PH.D. “Dr. Ed Crow is a well-renown and widely respected engineer, engine developer, and Professor,” commented LiquidPiston CEO Seymour Friedel. “We are excited to have him on our Board of Advisors and are sure his experience developing commercial successful engines and contacts within the industry will be invaluable to us in accelerating our engine development.
