Chief Engineer
Steve Nabours is the Chief Engineer at LiquidPiston Inc. Steve holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Oakland University, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas, and is a registered Professional Engineer in Michigan.
Mr. Nabours has over 12 years experience in the Automotive Industry. After working at Ford and Cummins, Steve spent 6 years as Sr. Design Engineer at FEV Engine Technologies, and Sr. Project Engineer at Chrysler, before becoming Program Manager at ATC Drivetrain. Steve brings expertise in design, and testing of advanced internal combustion engines including HCCI, direct injection diesel, spark ignition gasoline, direct injection gasoline, two and four stroke in the marine, automotive and locomotive commercial markets. He has managed projects from design through manufacture for prototype single cylinder research engines to volume production. Mr. Nabours also has hybrid vehicle, hydraulic systems design and control, and continuously variable transmission design and production experience. He is particularly experienced in complex mechanical system design and manufacturing.
