Per Suneby

Per Suneby is an advisor assiting with the corporate development of LiquidPiston. Per is an established entrepreneur and startup company executive who, after more than 20 years in the IT and network communications space, is focused on new startup opportunities in the sustainable energy and cleantech arenas. In addition to his role at LiquidPiston, Per is SVP of Strategic Alliances for Seawell Networks, Inc, an Ontario-based adaptive video streaming technology vendor. Per is also an Advisor to PMC BioTech, a PA-based developer of biowaste-to-energy solutions.
After graduating with an electrical engineering degree from the University of British Columbia in Canada and an MBA from Harvard Business School, Per spent the early part of his career with General Electric Co. in its Power Generation and International businesses. Following GE, Per was with Motorola for 12 years, most recently as General Manager, heading its industry-leading cable data modem and enterprise data networking businesses. In 1996 Per co-founded and served as President & CEO of Indus River Networks, Inc., an Internet communications company acquired by Enterasys Networks in January 2001. Following that acquisition, he was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, and responsible for Enterasys acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and strategic technology investments. After a brief stint with Enterasys, Per joined Flagship Ventures in 2002 as a Venture Partner and Executive-in-Residence. Per was a founding director and member of the board of AstralPoint Communications, which became a Flagship investment, until its acquisition by Alcatel in April 2002.
In 2004, he joined a Flagship portfolio company in the Wireless LAN mobility management space, Chantry Networks, as Vice-Chairman & Chief Strategy Officer. Chantry was acquired by Siemens in 2005, whereupon Per joined Converged Access, Inc. as Chief Strategy Officer and was appointed President & CEO later in 2005. Converged Access was an innovative provider of application performance management solutions enabling converged voice, video and data IP-based networks for large enterprises and service providers. Converged Access discontinued operations and sold its technology in late 2007.
He represents LiquidPiston on the New England Clean Energy Council, is a Founding Fellow of the inaugural NECEC Clean Energy Fellowship Program, and is an active member of the rapidly developing clean energy community in New England.
Per lives in Wellesley, MA with his wife and two teenage children.
