The figure above compares air-standard efficiency as a function of compression ratio. the three curves compare HEHC, Otto (typical for a gasoline engine) and Diesel thermodynamic cycles. The efficiencies may also be expressed as the equations:

Using this analysis, the thermodynamic efficiency of the HEHC cycle is shown to be ~ 37% greater than Otto / Diesel cycles. More details can be found in our White Papers.
